Google Video

Increase traffic to your website

With the Google Video feature, you can easily upload your videos for free if you have a Gmail account. If you own an online business and would like to bring more traffic to your website, it might be a good idea to shoot a video talking about the services you are offering or products you are selling. You can then submit it to Google Video or Youtube, post it to your blog or website and email it to clients and friends.

To assure you get the most relevant listing possible, make sure you add keywords in the title and description of your videos and a link to your website when you upload them to Google Video.

To attract people to check out your videos, you should offer free stuff, i.e, free tips, free consultations or courses. In the end, sharing your expertise with people who are looking out for pertinent information will pay off, I promise. Chances are the more traffic you get on your videos, the better listings you will get for them and at the same time, it will bring a lot of people to your website.

Google is the #1 Search Engine 2007

Google’s search dominance continues!

Google accounted for 55 per cent of all search queries carried out in the US in the month of April, according to Nielsen/NetRatings data released Tuesday.

Nearly 3.8 billion Google searches were carried out in the period, a 42 per cent increase on last year’s results.

Google accounted for more than 3.5 billion (55.8%). Yahoo ranked second with more than 1.3 billion (20.7%) of searches, next was MSN/Windows Live with 6.1 million (9%), AOL with 3.2 million (5.1%) and rounding out the top five was Ask.com with 1.3 million (2%) total searches.

Google announced earlier this month that it would be integrating all of its various search services so that a single search query will now generate results from a variety of previously separate sources such as videos, images, news stories, maps, books, and websites.

Because Google is the first thing most folks think of when they think about search, it is the most important search marketing venue, at least for the vast majority of SEOs.

Most clients don’t even mention other search engines when consulting a seo company, all they seem to care about is getting there website on page one of Google’s results.

The UK Search Engine Marketing Report 2007 found that over 60 percent of companies are planning to increase their budget for paid search and invest more in search engine optimization over the next year.

You want to make money???

I knew I was going to get your attention!!!

Seriously, a couple of weeks ago I wrote a little something about a few social media sites. Of course, I did some basic research before my post and that was it but one really caught my attention because with that site: I had found a way to make money and bring traffic to my website. It is squidoo.com

What is squidoo again?

Squidoo is a big community site where anyone can post or write just about anything they have expertise in. You don’t have to be an SEO expert or a webmaster to write.. It could be anything! Imagine the diversity :) All you have to do is to create your own lens (web page) and everything is entirely free and so easy. All you have to do is follow the instructions provided. Yes, we can make money with our own domains but we have to buy the domain first (we spend), then build it (we spend), then pay for the hosting every month (we spend again). When we create our free lens with squidoo, we don’t have to spend. I don’t know about you but I like the fact that for once, not only I am not spending but I can also make money

Why should you have your lens (web page)

Traffic and more traffic, free advertising if you are a business owner. Because you’ve been reading our blog, you know by now that keywords are important. Well, that lens is your web page right, so make sure that you have the right keywords at the right places, (url, title, description, keywords, h1, h2 etc.. CHECK OUT THE BLOG WRITTEN ON MAY 24th under Internet marketing for more tips) Remember the keyword density, don’t spam and make it interesting. Squidoo is a page rank 7 in google and it’ s been voted one of the top 1000 in the whole web. So make sure that on your page, you closely tie-in your links (to your other sites). And of course you can have as many lens as you wish.

Oh yeah, the money part!

Let say you want to sell something, this is your chance to test the water…. before you jump. Make a lens (web page) about the products that you are offering and see how it goes.. With more than 300 + visitors per day, per lens, I think that your product has a chance to be seen.

Every pages, every lens on squidoo carries google Adsense adds which will generate revenue for the site and for you. Plus you can display links from Amazon, Ebay etc..

I think I’ve said enough  All you have to do know is check it out www.squidoo.com Remember, if you make one dollar per page, make a hundred pages and you will make… just to talk about what you like, dislike, enjoy. Anything 8)

Keyword Placement Strategy: Strategic Internet marketing

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is increasingly important to a Web site’s success. Keyword research is an essential element of effectively marketing your web site. Putting the right words in the right place the right amount of times! Once you have a list of keywords that you want to rank well for in search engines you will need to SEO these keywords in the various locations throughout your page’s code. You need a strategy for how you’ll successfully use those keywords. The factors that search engines take into account when indexing goes beyond one keyword per page placement, and the competition is fierce. In order to bump up your placement in a directory’s results, you need an implementation strategy.

Below is a listing in order of importance of the places to put your keywords.

  1. Include a keyphrase in the first sentence of your text.
  2. Title Meta Tags (not more than 60 characters): < TITLE > tag
  3. Meta Keyword Description
  4. Header tags: h1, h2, etc.
  5. Bold/Italic Tag Content
  6. Body Text on top, middle and bottom of page: A good keyword density is 4-7%
  7. Alt Tags in Pictures that are Links: Image < ALT >
  8. Title Tag in Anchor Tags
  9. Anchor Text (incoming and internal) “deep linking”
  10. Use a keyword in your URLs

Search engine spiders read the HTML code on your page and score the page based on established criteria. If the search engine finds keywords in specific locations throughout the document, it will assume that your page is very relevant to that keyword.

Make sure the text on your page sounds natural, not artificially stuffed with keywords. Remember, you have to please human visitors to your site as well as search engines. It really isn’t rocket science. ;)

Google bans MFA websites with AdSense Arbitrage

Yes, Its true that many webmasters that used some not really ethical money-making-techniques did get the warning “your AdSense account will be closed” email. That is simply one of the many efforts for increasing the web quality by Google.

First lets make clear what Arbitrage really is. Arbitrage is the act of reselling traffic and this is actively used by all major players and its accepted as a respectful business model. Also it is well known that Google, Ask, MSN and others do buy traffic and resell it on their websites and is totally legal. Read More »

The “Google shuffle” Google’s May 2007 Update

Most of us are used to seeing our listings fluctuate during a big update but what happened lately when it seemed there was a blip as some called it. Your rankings disappeared and then poof a few days later they returned.

We felt this ourselves. We were ranking #2 for SEO and then poof we could not be found. We looked and looked and wondered if we had done something wrong but weirdly enough the all the other listings were fine. Then a week later we were back in 3rd position on page 1. A hunch is that at any given moment there are millions of calculations and computations taking place at various data centers. Once the calculations are in the listings are re set and credibility restored. Read More »

Ethical Link Building

“Content is King” and writing good material will generate webmasters interests in your site and therefore want to link to your pages. We all know that good trusted directory links helps start the process and spread the word that a site exists and once you have brought in a visitor you need to have something there for them to say “I like this site” and stay. Focus your efforts within the community that is most familiar with your work and ideas. The more specific you can be the better. A good example being Wiki. There are pages created for almost every subject and people that are knowledgeable and informed on that particular subject comment and make the page better for the visitor. When your site has such rich content on its pages, more links will come in. Read More »

Bye Bye Google Bomb!

As of May 02, 2007, George W Bush is no longer a miserable
failure. According to Google.

Did I get your attention? Thought so. Now before you go thinking
I’m making any kind of political statement here, let me quickly point
my finger to the world’s most popular search engine. Now it is my firm
belief that the folks over at Google Inc have very little interest in
incorporating political statements into their algorithms, as they are
busy working hard, day and night, to bring us the best www
searching experience they possibly can, while maintaining
(a relatively, er, modest) profit margin.

Google diffusing the bomb

“Then why do I get a government webpage on George W Bush
when I type ‘failure’, or ‘miserable failure’ into Google” you ask?
You don’t. Well as of May 2nd 2007 you dont anyway.
