The “Google shuffle†Google’s May 2007 Update
Most of us are used to seeing our listings fluctuate during a big update but what happened lately when it seemed there was a blip as some called it. Your rankings disappeared and then poof a few days later they returned.
We felt this ourselves. We were ranking #2 for SEO and then poof we could not be found. We looked and looked and wondered if we had done something wrong but weirdly enough the all the other listings were fine. Then a week later we were back in 3rd position on page 1. A hunch is that at any given moment there are millions of calculations and computations taking place at various data centers.
