Website Ranking and SEO Search Engine Optimization.

Everybody prefers and wants to rank high for popular phrases, but in many cases those key words may be out of your reach, so what do you do then?

Do Search Engine Optimization for Small, Low Traffic Terms.

For example, let’s assume you own a snowboard and accessory business and decide to go after a phrase “snowboard”. At the moment Google returns 38 million pages for that term with highly optimized results at the top. It is unlikely and would require either some magic on your side or a very professional website ranking and search engine optimization company to compete in that spectrum. The route is absolutely up to you, however in this article I wanted to talk about a different kind of technique, which is not as time consuming as going after the big keywords, but as effective as doing so.

Search Engine Optimization Website Ranking Starts with Keyword Research.

The foremost of every SEO project lies in keyword research and that is exactly where we are going right now. A number of free and pay-for tools is available online. For this particular presentation, let’s go ahead and use the free for all search engine optimization tools.

Please go to here and type “snowboard”.

The number of queries tops 400 thousand and Google returns with over 38 million results, so it is unlikely you will get good rankings in a short period of time, however if you are to scroll down, you will see less popular, but more refined terms that can get you a good amount of targeted traffic.

The key would be the following – spot very specific, buyer motivated low volume terms.

Please scroll all the way down in your keyword tool and copy “snowboard binding part”. It has 2172 queries – a little too much for this website ranking strategy so let’s dig deeper.

(please note you have to enter “snowboard” into the tool, to get results and follow practice outlined above)

Once you copy the term, please click back in your browser and paste “snowboard binding part” into the research tool. It will take a second to give you more refined results and bingo! Keyword research tool routed out “replacement part snowboard binding”. We rephrase that into human “snowboard binding replacement part” and we have found exact term we were looking for – very targeted, specific and relatively low volume. Number of queries is 148 which means it is searched close to 148 times per day.

You are probably thinking that it is not worth the effort to optimize for it, but please Google the exact phrase and you will see quite a number of shops who performed search engine optimization just for that term!

Website Ranking and SEO With Refined Keywords Brings High Return in a Form of Conversion.

If you do the math, it makes total sense. Let’s assume you can optimize your page and rank well for a low term. If you manage to get into top 3 results you will be getting an average of 60 visitors per day. The most beautiful part however, is the fact that those 60 visitors are all looking to buy snowboard binding replacement parts! If you manage to convert quarter of that traffic, you will sell 15 bindings per day and that is profit from a very refined, specific, targeted term.

Google Joins UN and Cisco, Global Efforts to Fight Poverty

The UN Millenium Development speaks of halving by 2015 the proportion of people suffering from hunger and extreme poverty.

Google joines UN and Cisco, global effort to fight poverty

The First UN Millennium Development Goal written by Thomas W. Pogge, states:

In 2000, the total human population was 6071 million (http://esa.un.org/unpp/*), and 19.27 percent were thus living in extreme poverty. Halving the proportion means reducing this percentage to 9.64 percent. Given an expected human population of 7197 million in 2015 (ibid.), the implied goal is then to reduce the number of extremely poor people to 694 million by 2015. The planned poverty reduction shrinks to 476 million.

* http://esa.un.org/unpp/ = Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations

In Thomas W. Pogge written that in 2000, some 1170 million were living below $1/day. Could you imagine yourself living where you live right now only by having less than $ 1 per day? Our hands are the only tool that can reach for those people who are suffer.

Google and Cisco Participation

Thursday, Google and Cisco Systems are going to launch a new website that will provide data and a bird’s eye view of global efforts to fight poverty and meet U.N. development goals by 2015. Through surfing on Google Earth’s map and satellite imagery to fly anywhere on the planet, web surfer will be able to “explore” the places where work is being done.

The project is funded by United Nations Capital Development Funds received $150,000 from corporate donors out of $ 200,000 project’s fund.

Thomas W. Pogge teaches me how to read simply the success of UN’s goals. Theoritically:

The UN Goals: Cutting the Propotion* of Extreme Poverty by Half

*The proportion of extremely poor people is a fraction that has the number of extremely poor people in the numerator (top) and some reference population in the denominator (bottom).

The greater the increase in the denominator, which occurs simply through population growth, the less of a reduction needs to be achieved in the numerator.

This website will provide the latest statistics on health, education, malnutrition, women’s equality and other measures that contribute to poverty, for all who seek it. Not only YOU can be part of successes and celebrate them, but also as observer of failures where you could keep attention to o the U.N. goals and redouble their country’s commitment to pursue global efforts to fight poverty.
