Google’s new look for SERP Pages. Nov 2007

Today Google released its new look for city specific searches.
This however only worked from one of our machines, so there is chance Google is performing some tests, regardless we believe this is the future.

Every time you are to look for any service from Google.com combined with a name of any city – first ten results are presented as local listings, followed by the natural pages as before.

Here is an example.


As you can see on the screen shot, the first ten listings are local followed by organic leaders as before the update.

Another look.

It is begging to be clicked on.

This look sets number one page completely apart from the rest, due to the fact it being separated by 10 local searches.

Consumer Search Implications.

Consumer search is going to improve greatly, since you are able to see addresses and the phone numbers in a blink of eye. It is no longer required to dig all the way down to the contact us page of the website – you are virtually there, with directions, phone numbers and the addresses. Not only Google’s servers are retrieving info at the speed of light, Google gets the best local bars, night clubs and shops up front, when you need them. I have a sense people will love this.
