Video Search Engine Review Part 2
This is a second part of video search engines review. Last time we looked at Blinx. Today, let’s destroy EveryZing search.
EveryZing Review
On the about us page a double speak copy meets us: “Everyzing improves search experience and drives user consumption of multimedia content” There’s a summary of what the company does and other rubbish. Let’s look at the organs.
Technology
Ironically, the key to successful audio and video search is text. Text is the navigation “currency†of the web – so multimedia must be linked to text, and then published to the web. As text, audio and video content is more “discoverable†and more readily “consumed†which makes it far more valuable to advertisers.
hmmmm… got me skeptical right there. It then goes to explain: “At the heart of EveryZing’s solutions is our core speech-to-text technology – the fruit of $100 million of government-funded research by BBN Technologies”
OK. That’s more like it.
EveryZing technology is similar to Blinx, that also has speech to text conversion software.
Performance
On the homepage EveryZing meets us with pretty design and many video options, which include:
Sports     News & Politics     Lifestyle & Health     2008 Presidential Election     Gaming     Technology     Business     Food & Cooking     Baseball     Youtube Videos     Entertainment     Finance     Home Improvement     Comedy Shows     More…

I’m not an EveryZing user, but separate “baseball” section got me wondering. Why separate section for baseball? The guess is – EveryZing monitors search queries and than offers most popular sections. Have to visit it several times within a month to confirm this.
Let’s check the “News & Politics” section. There are 16 video thumbnails from various video sites. Video are loaded very fast and open in the same window. Blinx, the competitor, opens videos in the new window and is considerably slower, so cudos to EveryZing.
Testing search power. As with Blinx, I search for “The Secret” a very popular title, which has a huge following.
… just like blinx, EveryZing failed to find me what I wanted, which were some videos from “The Secret”. Bad….
Search for “SEO” only gives 4 results, none of which are about search engine optimization. From “internet user” perspective, I quickly ditch EveryZing and head out to other sites to search for what I want. You only got several seconds without a brand like You Tube and Facebook.
About EveryZing
Surprise. EveryZing does video SEO!
“ezSEO is the first integrated multimedia SEO solution for connecting audio and video content to the major web search engines. ezSEO wraps every piece of audio and video content in a rich layer of metadata, including a full text output of spoken word track. This rich metadata is then pumped into EveryZing’s proprietary publishing system to create search engine friendly web pages as part of your site.”
