Google’s OS Ambitions?
Just a thought that occurred to me…does big G has the guts? I can bet that founders along with Google CEO thought about operating system to go head to head with Microsoft.
It was important that our strategic aspirations be relatively under the radar – Eric Schmidt, from article The Google Hive Mind. One of those strategic aspirations was Google Chrome Browser, which Larry and Sergei wanted to launch in 2001, but Eric refused stating that the company was not ready for browser wars.
What are the possibilities of Google OS?
Google has the brand power to launch a successful operating system in defiance to Microsoft. It has the cash to hire man power, and the arm to attract more investors and partners in the battle with Microsoft for $50 billion dollar market.
