Algorithms: Wikipedia define algorithms as ” Algorithms are essential to the way computers process information, because a computer program is essentially an algorithm that tells the computer what specific steps to perform (in what specific order) in order to carry out a specified task”. In short, it is the mathematical formula that the search engine uses to rank a web site for certain keywords.

Bot/ Bots: See Crawlers (same)

Crawlers: Once again, Wikipedia describe it as ” a program or automated script which browses the World Wide Web in a methodical, automated manner. For example, Google’s crawlers, called also Google bot will go through web sites to index everything contained in the page source, then it will store it in Google’s search index. Therefore, when someone like you or me will do a search: the index filtered by the algorithm will come up with a result.

Web directory: It’s a web page which contained a organized, categorized links to other web pages.

Frames: I would suggest you to stay away from frames as an SEO point of view because older browsers can’t handle it very well as well as text only browser and since you never know which browser the user will use, you better don’t. Do you still wanna know the definition? All right! When you use frames in your html codes, it allows you to open multiples web pages in one single window. Did I made it clear?? Html: Just in case you didn’t know what it is. Html stand for hyper text markup language. Html is the instructions that you will give to the browser on how to display your text & pictures & everything else you want to include on your web page. This is the first thing you will need to learn if you want to built website.

Link popularity: It measures how many web sites in term of quantity, point to your site.
